EARLS COLNE U10s vs Hedingham Hawks
Result 7-0
Date: Sunday 11th November 2007
It was a cold sunny afternoon at the Rec. where ECU10s were playing host to the Hawks. Hopes were high for a win as we had had success against the visitors last season.
From the kick off, Colne had the upper hand, with much more possession and penetration than Hawks. This led to an early goal by Charlie after only four minutes.
With nerves settled, Colne played skillfully, with chances being created from the wings. It was from a wide position that a well timed cross found Reed, who thumped it home. Reed followed this with another cracker.
Hawks came back at us with several breaks which led to goal mouth scrambles, but great keeping kept the score at 3-0 at the whistle.
The start off the second half saw Hawks give us a few scary moments, but things stabilized when Jack got the forth, and this was soon followed by two more by Daniel and finally the seventh was scored by 'tireless' Tom, the Colne captain.
At the whistle, a happy band of under 10s walked off the pitch, very satisfied with there performance. Obviously, the score was brilliant and accurately reflected the two teams, but better, was the unselfish team play displayed by Colne during the match. If they keep this up they'll do well for the remainder of the season.
Well done
