Under 10s Match Report

Feering Falcons vs EARLS COLNE U10s

Result 0-0.

Date: Sunday 21th October 2007

It was a beautiful Sunday morning with a blue sky and warm sunshine and everyone gathered at Elm Farm seemed to be in a cheerful mood and looking forward to the match, especially after last weeks disappointing cancellation.

The good weather seemed to inspire good open football by Earls Colne. Much of the play was kept in Feerings half. Passing and crossing was, in the most part, accurate and unselfish, and only the lack of finishing on our part prevented a goal/s being scored.

The second half saw Feering come back into the game, but our defense and goal keeper, dealt with the dangers confidently. Again, opportunities came to Earls Colne in increasing numbers and it seemed that a goal would come, but finishing was our problem; holding on to the ball too long in goal scoring positions seemed to dog us. "JUST KICK IT! , came the cry of supporters on many of these occasions.

At the final whistle the 0-0 result did not reflect the genuinely entertaining and skillful piece of teamwork by Earls Colne. I also noticed, as a simple parent observer, that our team came off the field looking as though they still had energy to spare. A credit to Alan's training sessions I think.

A good entertaining performance, well done!
