Under 11s Match Report

Earls Colne U11 V Cornard Dynamos
Sunday 16 December

Wow, well done lads it all came together. You all had a good day, because at last you looked like a real football team and Brandon got a bit of a rest!

The nagging, training and concentration paid off, you passed, and you communicated and played as a team.

I can⤙t remember all the details due to the excitement, but here are the highlights (I apologise if not in the correct order)

The game started well and EC passed the ball well and Kieran Arkle scored, the crowd were delighted.

Then we scored again, thanks to Alex C, and then we scored again, thanks to Kieran A.

Then Cornard broke back and Brandon did his bit. Then we scored again, was this the Harry goal?

Cornard broke and speed through to score,

Then was it half time or had we scored again?

Team chat: well done lads keep playing, passing and holding the shape this is giving us the space.

The Ref pointed out we must not gloat so not to let Cornard's heads drop. We didn't show off although it was obvious that the team and crowd were enjoying the moment!

So 4 or 5 or 6 goals to 1

EC came back on and for a horrible moment looked like they were going to sit back and loose their advantage. The crowd willed them to continue in the same spirit and yes they were back again.

Another goal was it Jordan, yes a great goal. Then another was it Kieran A⤙s head or Harry⤙s shot? We had lost count now (not been a season where we have had to worry about such matters.

But we were loosing shape by now and Cornard were still ready to fight, they came back with their 2nd, which was a great lob.

Then another Kieran A goal and Cornard goal making the final score

EC 9 v Cornard 3.

Our defence, Sean, Jack, Jacob, Sam and Alex C all played their part clearing away attacks and holding position.

The mid field of Alex H, Jordan, Kieran A and Kieran M all moved back and forward well holding their positions which spread their players and gave us space through the middle.

The wingers held their positions well early on which gave us this great match

The strikers of Harry and William stayed forward and made the chances.

The main points to remember were the fantastic passes; one twos and the ten passes creating goals. Cornard had their main chances in the last 10 minutes because we stopped passing and started
to run the ball on our own and lost the shape as everyone drifted, this is how previous matches have been lost.

Goals Kieran A 5 or 6
Harry 2
Alex C 1
Jordan 1

Man of match Jacob (chosen by the captain)
