Under 11s Match Report

Sunday 3rd February.

Under 11
Earls Colne v Colchester Athletic Blues

The last two reports have been so much easier to write, may be due to the great wins!
Well it was a beautiful sunny morning but rather cold.
The Ref was appointed and took the role very offically! All the goal netting had to be secured, the boys boots were checked. The Captains and Lino's (sorry assistant refs) were spoken to about their role.

The match began and Col Ath were down hill with a strong wind helping, very quickly they scored. We did not hold the shape or pass like we had in the last two games (or am I making excuses). They were a well organised team and took advantage at every opportunity. Yes they scored again.
By half time the score was 5 nil to them.

The chat: Lads remember keep at them, work hard, pass and hold shape. You are tackling well and hard for a change.
Remember you'll be down hill with the wind, use it. Clo Ath suffered so many injuries (or was Ronaldo on the pitch) They had so many down that injury time lasted for ever. We obviously don't encourage dirty play, therefore would like to point out very few tackles were given against our lads! The old second half depression set in after two more goals, and Brandon lay down as he had at the beginning of the season.
The last two wins had made this on slaught hard to bear. Jordan battled away trying to get everything, the number of goal mouth scrambles increased but the luck was not with us. We tried to clear ball after ball but it always went in! Brandon kicked the ball up the pitch so far and we made a good effort but their goal keeper was there. The lads showed how they have improve when winning the ball, but it never got past their keeper. Two more goal mouth scrambles and yes they scored.

Final score EC 0 v CA 9

Man of the Match - Jordan Sturmer (HE never gave up)
