Match report Sunday 4th Nov.
Earls Colne v Cornard Dynamos
The first ten meets offered a good performance by both teams, passing and working together, but has to be described as a 'game of two halves'! Harry made a header which shot over the bar which was followed by Brandon making a fab save. Then came the goal it was Alex H who had made a great run to finish off some good team work. Harry passed a great ball to Jordan which didn't make the net then Cornard quickly responded with Brandon diving around and tipping the ball over the bar, it was a blurr. Cornard had numerous corners to which Harry made a clearance off the line. The team then took the ball and Kieran A created and scored a great goal. 2-0 half time. The team talk was great lads keep up the same, pass the ball well, talk to each other and Brandon keep going.
Cornard came back on like dynamos and scored in 2 mins, we responded with a good attempt which produced a great save from Cornard. Kieran looked like scoring but it curled so much it came out off the line. I wish I could stop now because Earls Colne did, except Brandon. Cornard with only 9 players were unstoppable, passing and making chance after chance, they scored their second and their manager was so excited he ran on to the pitch, who could blame him. Brandon weeble Heaney bounced around on the floor in the sky everywhere. Where were the rest of the team you may ask? They were beaten to every ball watching as if to say after you Cornard, or two stood looked and waited for Cornard to run through. It was agony to watch, where were those great 10 from last week?
Brandon came out against 3, defence where are you, oh standing watching 20 feet away, Cornard passed around Brandon and shot! Jack appeared like magic and made a clearance off the line which I still can't explain, it was so nearly in.
Thankfully the final whistle came and we were all dismayed, what happened in the second half, was it the same team, have you heard of tackling, winning the ball, running!
We were like a team of dogs who don't like walking in the rain whilst Cornard came out with their tails wagging.
Well done Cornard their manager was a proud lad.
Guess who was man of the match
Brandon 'weeble' Heaney.
