ECYFC U10s coach's report

Dear Parents

I'd like to introduce myself as the manager/coach for the Earls Colne under 1 0's and to explain a little bit about how I intend to run the team. My main aim for this season is to create a positive, disciplined and skillful team. I am a firm believer in fairness and I will be as even-handed as possible with my instruction as well as my encouragement. It is very important that children turn up to training on Friday evenings, (6.OOpm 700pm) as this is the best opportunity for them to try out new tactics, learn good ball skills, get fitter for matches and helps create a great team spirit.

I will keep a close eye on the behaviour of all children and will not tolerate lack of effort, rudeness or swearing and will make sure that the children actively support and encourage each other too. I am aiming for us to be a winning team Obut we will not get demoralised O(or behave badly) if we are beaten by a better one! I will therefore be looking to put the best team forward for every match and should we have enough players, I will substitute whenever I consider it to be tactically right.

I hope you find the enclosed list useful the teams in our league who we are due to play (Only 7 this year). The addresses given here are taken from the League Handbook so I assume they are accurate. Exact fixture details are arranged weekly, so parents will be informed of these by me during the week prior to a match.

Finally, just a couple of things that I'd like to mention...

Kit
As the weather gets colder this winter please ensure your child has; a Drinks Bottle (water only); a Warm Sweat Shirt; a Waterproof Top; Tracksuit Bottoms; Shin Pads and appropriate Boots, both for astro and grass surfaces. Please check your child's studs are tightened up for match days and please keep boots (Puma!) in good condition.

Match Days at home
It would be greatly appreciated if I could get some help in putting out the goals and flag posts on match days at home, as I would really like to spend most of my pre-match time with The Team, warming them up properly and getting them in the right frame of mind. Thank you for all your support.
