Well, if Earls Colne had started the match at the same time as Gt Bradfords I think we could have done quite well. As it was we really didn’t start to do what we are capable of until the 2nd half. With 6 goals against before half time we had just left to much to do. Having said that there were some good points to take out of it. All of the defence performed well with James King and Daniel Mortimer standing out. James with good tackle after good tackle and Daniel with tireless running and good interceptions. The start of the 2nd half saw an immediate goal mouth scramble with Daniel forcing the ball over the line. Another followed from Kane and our play improved greatly with Reed and Kane linking well. Gt Bradfords were very good in the box when the ball was in the air and we suffered from a lack of commitment in that dept . Bradfords got another 2 with time fading away. We didn’t have that spark needed today but they tried hard and well done to Marly who pulled of some good saves and showed good handling and throwing in wet, muddy, difficult conditions.
All of the boys are improving and I’m sure it won’t be long before our 1st league win. |
